On this page you will fine the outline for the newly introduced 'Modified' category which will be introduced for the 2021 season
The aim of this category is to fit nicely between the current Production and Super Modified categories.
In 2021 this category will ONLY score points towards its own category championship, it will NOT be eligible for the Overall BTRDA Rallycross Championship until 2022, whilst numbers in the category grow.
Minimum weight in the category will be 1000kgs including the driver
Tyres will remain FREE in 2021, however for 2022 onwards, all competing cars will have to use the mandatory Cooper branded RS3-R tire.
Modified cars open to cars of rigid construction that are 2-wheel drive, front wheel drive, two or four seater cars.
Space framing of chassis in any way is not permitted
The Modified cars permitted are: Modified cars with engine capacities of up to 2050cc, forced induction IS permitted providing it was fitted to the original engine for the make and model of car being used and ensure the cc of the vehicle is NOT above 2050cc when the Motorsport UK multiplier of 1.7;1 is taken into account.
Therefore;
Cars with a maximum cc capacity of 1200cc will be able to use forced induction taking there cc to 2040cc using the Motorsport multiplier of 1.7:1
Cars with a maximum of 2050cc are allowed, however cannot have forced induction
The engine and gearbox must be that as originally fitted by the manufacturer for the make and model of vehicle being used.
