John Rook - (26), 35, Health Club Manager/Rallycross Promoter, High Wycombe
Hot Hatch - Citroen Saxo VTS 1600cc 16v
I've had Rallycross in my blood since the day i was born, I spent my early years spectating at rallycross events throughout the UK and Europe. I successfully jointly ran the Rallycross Super Series for 4 years including the prestigious MSA British Rallycross Grand Prix and other top rallycross events. I have been a spectator, promoter, mechanic but I have always wanted to race, so in 2008 I bought the ex Mike Jordan/Tony Bardy Peugeot 205 GTi for Stockhatch. After 2 successful seasons I then moved up to a Saxo knowing the 205's would soon be outlawed.
Claim to fame was appearing on the Top Gear motoring programme in 2011 when i got to race against Hammond, Clarkson and May.
I continue to mix full time work, racing as well as trying to do the best for the sport and always got the "clubman" end of the sport at heart. 2013 will see me continuing to do selected Rallycross events whilst helping the BTRDA Rallycross Committee work towards putting on a full calender of events for 2014.

I was a Motorsport fan from very beginning, because this part of Poland where I live before I moved to UK is full of rally. When I came over to UK in June 2000 , there was even more motorsport events to watch, I never even been thinking to be driver of any Motorsport discipline.
This was until April 2007 when by luck, on the way home from rally in north Wales, we met Robert Gooding at one of the petrol stations. He was on the way to Pembrey, he explain me where is the track and of course we turn around to follow his track. This was a day which I never forgot, on the track was one Polish driver Wojtek Bialowas, and he was the person who push me in to rallycross. Not take long to decided -this is for me,I have to try!!
Two events later I was on the entry list at Knockhill in Scotland. First event show me where is my place in the row. Every next one was better and better ,I start from very bottom with out any experience but was a lot of fun. In my second year of racing I finish the BTRDA championship at 3rd place. In 2009 I move up to Supermod class with Fiat Seicento, but with many problems with the car, this season was bad for us. The result was to make a one year break of racing. In 2011 I back to old good Peugeot 205 gti, and after a long season and fantastic racing finish the championship at 3rd place in Btrda championship. So in 2012 we going to different class with new car again, hot hatch class and Citroen Saxo vts. Car is prepared by myself and my friends,so we see how fast we gonna be this year. I wish good luck for every one in hot hatch class this year!!And again in 2012 finish 3rd in hh.

Hot Hatch - Ford Fiesta Ztec 1600cc 16v
My “circuit driving career” started in the mid 90’s, track daying a 2.0 Westfield which I had just built, and a range of motorbikes. I currently trackday a 2.0VX Caterham with regular trips to motorsport mecca - the Nurburgring Nordschliefe.
I still enjoy trackdays but am now hooked on proper competition. I looked at Sprinting, but it did not seem to offer good value for the amount of driving. I looked at Stage Rallying, but the affordable events seemed to involve too many cones, airfields and car-parks! Rallycross provides wheel to wheel racing, (like you are not supposed to do on trackdays!), the cars at the lower end (Hot Hatch) are affordable and don’t have to be top spec (I bought a secondhand Fiesta Zetec), the competition licence is “Nat B” which is cheap, and the mix of tarmac and loose surface appeals – as a Caterham driver I like all that sideways stuff anyway!
First year was 2013 and I have had some great races, broadly stayed out of trouble, and not yet totalled the car!
